As you can see from my bookshelf I have always loved children’s books.

My first book to be published was To Be Human is an Honour‘, which is a memoir of my life so far.
The next one is the first in a series of children’s books called ‘A Tree in Time.’ It for children from 9 upwards (including those among us who are still a child at heart and love children’s books) and is available in paperback and as an ebook. The series is called Tree Spirits in Time.
N.B. The featured image is the inspiration for the magical tree arch in The Tree Spirits in Time series. I used to walk this route daily with our dog and observed it through every season. Mist in Time is set in autumn which was when this photo was taken. Mist encrusted cobwebs festoon the vegetation on either side of the path and the swirling mist makes the place very atmospheric.

The second in the series is called Mist in Time. This is also available in ebook and paperback. This cave was in my head when I was writing the story.
The third in the series is called Stones in Time. This time Jenni’s two friends from the future join her as she travels into the past. Much of the inspiration for this book comes from my love of stone circles, particularly my favourite one. Can you identify which one it is from the photo? More clues are in the book!

The final in the series is Fire in Time set in the Iron Age, when fire transformed human lives through the creation of metal. I had a fabulous time researching for this book, visiting ancient hillforts and experimental archaeology sites at Butser Ancient Farm (where I watched them making bronze) and the Crannog museum on Loch Tay (where I observed spinning, weaving and cooking). It was the hardest to write, as I had to tie in all the themes from previous books as well as write about the ‘Celtic’ era which is very special to many people. Hope you enjoy the tale.
